Reminder—Next Sunday is the first session of the class based on Simply Christian by N. T. Wright. The book is divided into 3 parts. Part 1 which will covered in the first week explores “echoes of a voice” and deals with universal feelings that point to something greater than us. Part 2 (weeks 2-4) lays out the central Christian belief about God. While this may seem elementary, I believe you will be challenged by Wright’s insights to rethink your beliefs. Part 3 (weeks 5-7) deals with what it looks like in practice to follow Jesus, energized by the Spirit, and to advance the plan of the creator God.
While it is not necessary, your experience in the class will be enhanced if you read the book before the class. Each class will cover about 30 pages of the book, 1-2 hours of reading. You will find the book easy to read and thought provoking. The first week we will be covering Part one, chapters 1-4.
